From October 13 to 15 at Pacifico Yokohama, JTB Communication Design will hold a Premier Hybrid Partnering Event, consisting of “BioJapan”, “Regenerative Medicine JAPAN” and “healthTECH JAPAN”.
“BioJapan” is a specialized exhibition that brings together major pharmaceutical companies, venture companies, research institutes and universities from Japan and abroad.
It consists of three pillars: exhibitions, partnering, and seminars. With the participation of more than 800 companies and organizations, approximately 10,000 business negotiations are expected during the exhibition period.
The goal is to create communication opportunities for all participants by combining the traditional booth exhibition with a unique matching system.
The system allows all participants to understand each other’s needs in advance: business nature, in-and out-licensing, what kind of partner they are looking for, etc. It has been made possible to contact companies with high potential for business connections, such as business partnerships, through the matching system. When they request a meeting with the person they want to meet, and the person accepts, the system’s algorithm finds a mutually available time and place and automatically sets up the meeting.
In the sixth edition of “Regenerative Medicine JAPAN,” the stem cell researcher and winner of the Nobel Prize Shinya Yamanaka and the physician, ophthalmologist and stem cell researcher Masayo Takahashi will present their latest efforts in the field of cell therapy and medicine, including increasingly popular iPS research.
“HealthTECH JAPAN 2021” will be held under the theme of “Healthcare x Digital” and is expected to be 1.5 times larger than the previous year’s event.
Exhibitors will include a start-up that utilizes AI in molecular design technology to perform a large-scale screening, and a company that uses wearable devices to accumulate heart rate variability data to analyze myocardial infarction and the risks of epileptic seizures in the future.
Showcasing overseas companies “Global Life Science Clusters” is an online event and part of the program that has been in operation since September 15.
The Italian Embassy’s Trade Promotion Department and BIOCOM – San Diego-based life science organization, will participate in this year’s event, with a number of notable companies from each region giving the presentations.
