Tokyo Food Technology Week 2021 Opens with New Products Incorporating Trends in the F&B Industry

“Tokyo Food Technology Week 2021” is a trade fair for food-related products organized by IJK.
It consists of three exhibitions: P&B JAPAN featuring retail, bakery and confectionery products, Nutritional Food Materials Expo focusing on health and nutritional foods, and Frozen, Retort & Instant Food Materials Technology Expo with products related to convenience food development technology.

One of the special displays – J&T pallets that can be used in food storage warehouses. The SDG-conscious 100% recycled plastic pallets have less odor than conventional plastic pallets due to the special cleaning process.
With the load capacity of 1 ton in the 1m x 1m size, the new pallet made with original mesh weighs only 10kg, which is lighter and stronger than other conventional pallets. These features make it a promising candidate for new development in the food industry.

Another notable presentation is from FCC System, a pest control and management company, which presented a new eco-friendly cleaning product for the entire restaurant, from the kitchen to the hall. It is offered as a yearly sanitation service and can be used not just for pests but also as an anti-bacterial and anti-virus disinfection.

Gunma Flour Milling, a manufacturer and seller of rice flour, which is mostly used in Japanese confectionaries, showcased its roasted soybean and brown rice flours, developed exclusively for bread baking
“We understand that it is difficult for the bakery to entirely change the main ingredient from wheat to rice flour. That’s why we introduce products that can be mixed into the dough they normally use, without disrupting the bakery routine,” says the company representative.
In addition, jointly developed by Starch Technologies Co., LTD. and Akita Prefectural University product – the resistant starch, which is known for its health benefits on the digestive system has been showcased at the expo as well. Its release is scheduled for 2022.
