ISTANBUL CVB APPOINTS NEW GENERAL MANAGER

EUROPE/ASIA – Ozgul Ozkan Yavuz has been promoted as the new general manager of Istanbul Convention & Visitors Bureau (ICVB).

An information and opinion exchange meeting aimed at attracting MICE promotion in the Kansai area was held on June 25, at the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (Osaka City). In addition to attracting personnel from the Osaka Tourism Bureau, Kobe International Convention Association, the Kyoto Convention Bureau cultural exchange, tourism stakeholders, and the agency for the Department of Transportation, the new Kansai International Airport will also participate, in the cooperation of MICE to attract tourism to Osaka, Kobe and Kyoto.

Similar meeting were held with the aim to lead to further attracting collaboration and cooperation with MICE by Kinki Unyuu who deals with regional tourism.

June 28, Shimane Prefectural College of Matsue campus held a “Goennokuni Shimane Tourism convention in Matsue at kunibiki Messe International Conference Hall. In addition to the students of the school, and tourism and Convention related visitors, including participants from outside the prefecture, such as Okinawa and Tokyo, about 200 people together gathered.

Tourism in Shimane Prefecture, has developed around the eastern region, including the Izumo Taisha, but the convention was held to promote the tourism of rather culture from local town, and from the rise of the popularity of Yoshida town Unnan City, Ama town Oki gun and Tsuwano town of west part.
