DSV REFUERZA SU DEPARTAMENTO DE FERIAS CON LA INCORPORACIÓN DE LUIS SIERRA

Tras su incorporación a la multinacional logística DSV, Luis Sierra centrará sus actividades en la potenciación del departamento comercial A&S desde la Central de DSV en Barcelona.

Su área de influencia comercial es Cataluña y Baleares y potenciará tanto la consolidación de la actual cartera como la nueva incorporación de clientes y la comercialización de todos los productos que gestiona la división, es decir servicios aéreos, marítimos, aduanas, ferias y proyectos industriales.  Entre los principales retos que  asume tras su nombramiento, Sierra señala “DSV es una empresa líder en España del sector forwarding y desde su división Air & Sea,  y en un entorno internacional marcado por los cambios y la competitividad, seguro se alcanzarán grandes éxitos”.
La trayectoria profesional de Luis Sierra, recientemente nombrado Air & Sea Sales Manager Barcelona,  se caracteriza por  su amplia experiencia en el sector logístico y transporte. Sus inicios fueron en la compañía Oliver Getransa, para pasar posteriormente a ocupar cargos de responsabilidad en ABX Logistics (adquirida en el 2008 por DSV), concretamente trabajando en el dept. de exportación dentro del segmento de transporte terrestre y logística. En 2004 se incorpora a Rhenus Logistics y hasta febrero de 2013, su actividad profesional se ha desarrollado ejerciendo básicamente como Key Account. A raíz de los resultados obtenidos, Luis Sierra pasó a ocupar la jefatura de Ventas como Sales Manager Overseas en el área de Cataluña.

Luis Sierra, que reportará directamente a la Dirección General de DSV Air & Sea, se une a la compañía en un momento marcado por el crecimiento exponencial de la misma, al haberse anunciado recientemente la compra por parte de DSV de Seatainers Group A/S (Seatainers Group).

NACHO SOLER, DIRECTOR GENERAL DE GEC, LANZA EL BLOG EVENTOSENPALACIO

El pasado mes de febrero, Nacho Soler, director general de GEC (Global Exhibition Centers) lanzó su blog eventosenpalacio, un espacio de reflexión y análisis de la actualidad del sector MICE.
Esta publicación digital, dinámica y actualizada,  responde a una mirada personal,  siempre bajo un prisma  profesional, de la industria de los eventos y congresos. Así mismo, pondrá el foco en la actualidad de este segmento económico, con artículos noticiables  y opinión.
En su primera entrada, (a la cual se puede acceder en la dirección:  http://eventosenpalacio.wordpress.com/ Nacho Soler analiza la importancia de abrir un debate sobre la rentabilidad de los palacios de congresos.  Soler destaca en su artículo inicial, que “teniendo en cuenta que en España existen más de 70 palacios de congresos, gran parte de los cuales han surgido de iniciativa pública, es necesario abrir el debate… Me remito a los medios de comunicación MICE especializados: noticias aparecidas sobre palacios recién construidos sin adjudicación, en algunos casos; obras paralizadas por la ausencia de presupuesto, en otros. ¿Es este el modelo del que queremos que nuestro país sea referente, como sin duda lo ha sido, del turismo MICE? La sobresaturación de palacios de congresos ha condenado a los mismos a un infra-uso provocando, paralelamente, un endeudamiento de muchas ciudades que quisieron tener sus fastuosos palacios, en ocasiones bajo la firma de grandes arquitectos. Se echa en falta, en algunos casos, un correcto plan de viabilidad económica”.
Para Nacho Soler, la iniciativa de poner en marcha este blog abre la posibilidad de interactuar con todos los miembros que componen la industria de Meetings & Events en nuestro país y aporta una manera de seguir el hilo de la actualidad “bajo una mirada crítica, pero amable, de algunos de los hechos más destacados que acontecen en nuestro sector”.

The leading social and affordable housing event in the UK brings together housing associations, arms length management organisations (ALMOs) and local authorities.

The event, led by Ocean Media Group, is the biggest and best attended event in the UK’s housing events calendar with more than 7,600 housing professionals and over 300 key suppliers all under one roof.

Angie Robinson, Chief Executive of Manchester Central, said: “We are thrilled to have been chosen to host the CIH annual conference and exhibition for the next five years. This conference and exhibition was a huge success at Manchester Central in 2012 and we are looking forward to building on that success over the coming years.”

The conference and exhibition has been running for more than 60 years. It staged its first conference at Manchester Central last year and the results were extremely positive, with a significant increase in commercial revenue and 24% higher attendance than the previous year.
