Tokyo Olympics 1964 Design Project

On February 13th, “Tokyo Olympics 1964 Design Project” opened in Tokyo Modern Art Gallery.
The Tokyo Olympics were not only a sports event, it also was a large-scale design project showcasing the skills of post-war designers.

Young designers from those times, Tanaka Ikkou among others, worked together on producing pictograms, the program and venue guide maps, guiding the visitors to Olympic facilities.

The exhibition is planned to be announced in the spring special number of Trade Fair News “Looking Forward to Invitation to Olympics”.
