The expanded format of the event and the popularity of the venue and its \u2018Plastics Valley\u2019 location have strengthened demand from exhibitors, requiring us to provide additional space. An event like PDM shows the UK plastics industry off at its best and we are very excited about what we can achieve in Telford with our event partners and Invest in Telford.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Big name manufacturers of machinery equipment who have confirmed their presence at the show include Arburg, BMB Plastics Machinery, Boy, Engel UK, Hi-Tech Automation, Krauss Maffei UK, Kuka Robotics, Negri Bossi, Plastic Machinery Sales UK, Romi Sandretto UK, Sumitomo Demag, Billion and Premier Moulding Machinery, while polymer and masterbatch suppliers also taking a stand include Distrupol, Plastribution, Ultra Polymers, 4Plas, Luxus, Gabriel-Chemie and many more.<\/p>\n<p>Representing the full plastics design and manufacturing chain, PDM 13 exhibitors also include product design companies, vacuum thermoforming, rotational and blow moulding machinery suppliers, toolmakers, hotrunner and rapid prototyping specialists, mouldmakers and moulders, software suppliers and materials testing specialists.<\/p>\n<p>As well as expanding the exhibition space at PDM13, the organiser has substantially expanded the PDM Conference running alongside, which is free for those registering to attend before 10 June. Twin conference streams focus on technical aspects of plastics design and moulding with half-day sessions on surviving and thriving in today\u2019s economy and the latest developments in materials, design, automotive, medical, 3D printing, and caps &#038; closures. Each themed session features three top-level speakers looking at the most topical issues in their sector, a joint question and answer session and the facility for open networking afterwards. The parallel Smithers Rapra conference runs in a single stream and will forecast plastics industry market trends up to five years ahead. Specialist topics will include bioplastics, flexible plastics packaging, medical plastics, automotive plastics and composites and specialty plastics.<\/p>\n<p>Event partners for the PDM conference and exhibition include the British Plastics Federation (BPF), the Gauge &#038; Toolmakers Association (GTMA), Polymer Training and Innovation Centre, the Polymer Machinery Manufacturers and Distributors Association (PMMDA). The Plastics Consultancy Network is also set to return to the event with its ever-popular \u201cAsk The Consultant\u201d drop-in advice centre.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;PDM represents one of the most interesting events in the plastics calendar.  It allows visitors to meet and discuss specific projects with equipment suppliers.  PDM is busy and vibrant, well supported by the industry, a must for all moulding companies,\u201d says Nigel Baker, Managing Director, BMB Plastics Machinery.<\/p>\n<p>Home to over 100 polymer-related companies, Telford has been known for \u201cPlastics Valley\u201d for over 20 years and was the venue for PDM\u2019s debut show in 2005. The International Centre has recently undergone a \u00a310m upgrade and expansion programme to expand its exhibition and event space by 30%.
