Manchester Central underwent a three year \u00a330million redevelopment which was completed in 2012<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Manchester Central has been crowned as the winner of one of the country’s major business tourism awards, alongside Excel London.<\/p>\n

The North of England’s leading events, exhibitions, and conference venue was named as the joint winner of the Business Tourism Award at the Visit England Awards for Excellence, in Manchester on Monday evening.<\/p>\n

Angie Robinson, Chief Executive of Manchester Central, said: “I am thrilled that Manchester Central has been crowned joint winner of what is one of England’s most prestigious business tourism awards.<\/p>\n

“We have had an incredibly successful past year where we have made a massive impact upon business tourism, both regionally and nationally.<\/p>\n

“2012 saw us attract some wonderful events to Manchester, including the Labour party political conference, the X-Factor final and some major international events. This has helped to generate more than \u00a375million of economic impact for the region.<\/p>\n

“We work closely with our fantastic restaurants, hotels and our incredible retail offer, to sell Manchester as a destination.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe also launched a successful partnership with local taxi drivers where we are now working together to sell and inform people about our venue.<\/p>\n

“I would also like to congratulate our competitor and industry friend, Excel London on what is a wonderful achievement for the venue.”<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
