{"id":11441,"date":"2013-07-24T18:30:22","date_gmt":"2013-07-24T09:30:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.exhibitionindustrynews.co.uk\/?p=3629"},"modified":"2013-07-24T18:30:22","modified_gmt":"2013-07-24T09:30:22","slug":"icon-exhibits-its-own-skills-to-a-world-audience","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.eventbiz.net\/english\/?p=11441","title":{"rendered":"ICON exhibits its own skills to a world audience"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.exhibitionindustrynews.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/World-Skills.jpg\" rel=\"lightbox[3629]\" title=\"ICON exhibits its own skills to a world audience\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-3630\" alt=\"World Skills ICON exhibits its own skills to a world audience Exhibition News\" src=\"http:\/\/www.exhibitionindustrynews.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/World-Skills.jpg\" width=\"178\" height=\"178\" title=\"ICON exhibits its own skills to a world audienceExhibition News\" \/><\/a>Branding and event production specialist ICON has just completed the full design, install and breakdown for the 42nd WorldSkills competition, held in Leipzig Trade Fair and Exhibition Centre earlier this month.\u00a0 The bi-annual event brings together hundreds of young skilled people, accompanied by their teachers and trainers, from around the world to compete before the public in the skills of their various trades and test themselves against demanding international standards.\u00a0 The project was led by Rainer Sprechert, from ICON&#8217;s German office.<\/p>\n<p>The skills being assessed ranged from architectural stonemasonry and aircraft maintenance through to web design and window dressing.\u00a0 &#8220;Obviously with such a diverse range of skills being displayed the internal configuration of the hall space was not straightforward.\u00a0 Allowances had to be made for practical aspects such as power supplies and lighting but also issues such as noise, dust and sound levels had to be considered,&#8221; explained ICON&#8217;s project leader, Rainer Sprechert.<\/p>\n<p>ICON included a detailed 3D fly through, showing how the halls would appear as part of their tender.\u00a0 &#8220;It was a new approach to include this type of material in our presentation but it reflected how important we felt this opportunity was and it obviously worked,&#8221;
