{"id":12243,"date":"2013-09-23T23:57:59","date_gmt":"2013-09-23T14:57:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.exhibitionindustrynews.co.uk\/?p=3976"},"modified":"2013-09-23T23:57:59","modified_gmt":"2013-09-23T14:57:59","slug":"olympia-london-assist-community-park-project","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.eventbiz.net\/english\/?p=12243","title":{"rendered":"Olympia London assist community park project"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Olympia London has teamed up with a local community group to help improve the Marcus Garvey Park \u2013 just a short walk away from the prestigious London exhibition venue.<\/p>\n<p>The project will see 1000 daffodil and 1000 crocus bulbs being planted in the West London park by local schoolchildren and will spearhead the proposed regeneration of the area in 2014 that will cost an estimated \u00a350,000. Olympia is delighted to have been able to facilitate the planting project and realises the importance of such spaces in the surrounding environment.<\/p>\n<p>Located just moments away from Olympia, the area surrounding Marcus Garvey Park is densely populated and a recent survey revealed that a large proportion of local residents would like to see improvements made to the park.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are delighted that Olympia London is involved with our community project and are very grateful for their generous donation,\u201d said Sean Adamson, project leader. \u201cMany local residents see Marcus Garvey Park as their \u201cback garden\u201d and so to have the opportunity to dramatically improve the site will mean a lot to those that visit on a regular basis.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Gillian Kiamil, Halls Director at Olympia London, said: \u201cThe Olympia team is proud of its strong links with the local community. By assisting valuable causes such as these we feel that we are able to give something back to our local community.
