As part of the ongoing evolution of Global Experience Specialists’ (GES) business outside of North America, GES is pleased to announce three key appointments.<\/p>\n

Nick Marshall has been promoted to executive chairman of the GES EMEA operation. This role recognises Marshall’s increasing involvement in GES\u2019 activities outside the UK, including the expansion of the European contracting business in Amsterdam, the establishment of an EMEA-wide logistics operation led by Phil Powell, and the continued growth of the Middle East business. Marshall was previously CEO of Melville and has been in the industry since 1985.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have worked with Nick for the past six years and his knowledge, experience and reputation are unparalleled in this industry\u201d, says Jason Popp, executive vice president of international at GES. \u201cThis role will allow Nick the opportunity to provide focused attention on our key show organiser clients across all the geographies in which they operate, and to drive forward the synergies within our various operating units.\u201d Marshall was previously CEO of Melville and has been in the industry since 1985.
\nGES has also appointed Andy Gibb to the role of managing director of the GES UK business.<\/p>\n

He takes on this role after serving as chief operating officer at Melville GES for the previous year. Gibb will assume the day-to-day management of the UK operation. Nick Marshall commented, \u201cWith Andy\u2019s experience as both an organizer and a show contractor, he is uniquely placed to lead GES\u2019 UK business. He has already made a big impact on the business during the past twelve months.\u201d<\/p>\n

The final appointment is the addition of David O\u2019Connor as managing director of GES\u2019 European Contracting business based in Amsterdam. David was previously a principal at Resource Creative, which was acquired by GES in February. \u201cDavid has a wealth of experience in the exhibition business and has delivered projects across most of Europe\u2019s exhibition centres. We are very pleased to have David leading our rapidly-growing European contracting business\u201d, says Popp.<\/p>\n

Popp added, \u201cThese new positions, combined with the recent appointment of Ted Bloom as chief commercial officer of EMEA and Mark Eddy as European sales director, creates an organization that mirrors our business strategy. We are building global relationships with show organizers, event producers and exhibitors to execute their projects wherever they are in the world.\u201d<\/p>\n
